Intraoral Camera
It’s far easier and more effective to show you what is going on inside of your mouth rather than to try to explain problems and our proposed treatment plan. The intraoral camera allows us to do just that. It’s a small, handheld tool with a camera at the tip. Images are captured and immediately transferred to a screen that’s right beside your chair. When we can involve you in the treatment plan, your experience greatly improves — and that means your oral health benefits, too.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays greatly improve the process of radiography, which allows your dentist to get a more in-depth look at what’s going on between, beneath, and inside of the teeth. Traditional X-rays require special solutions and take time to develop, but digital radiography is ready instantly, stored easily, and almost completely eliminates the patient’s exposure to radiation, which is a concern for children especially. Plus, in the event we need to refer you to a specialist’s office, digital X-rays are easily transferred.
Digital Impression System
Digital impressions are captured more quickly and comfortably than their traditional predecessors: the bite-down impressions. This old-fashioned method is uncomfortable for everyone, but can be nearly impossible for patients who have sensitive gag reflexes. Our digital impression system is more comfortable for you, and also improves treatment planning by giving us a more advanced, highly accurate look at your teeth and oral structures. Plus, better treatment planning leads to more effective results overall.
Soft Tissue Laser
Traditional periodontal surgeries are invasive, uncomfortable, and often require long recovery periods. With the soft tissue laser, Dr. Harth or Dr. Townsend can precisely treat or remove targeted pieces of periodontal tissue. The Biolase laser is highly effective in the treatment of periodontal disease, as well as gum recontouring or crown lengthening procedures. It eliminates the need for sutures and stitches, minimizing bleeding for a more comfortable, faster recovery and better results overall.
Cavity Detection System
Cavities caught in the later stages may have advanced so much that root canal therapy is needed to save the tooth. The early detection of cavities is crucial for preserving healthy tooth structure, and using our Logicon caries detector software, we are able to detect, diagnose, and treat dental caries earlier than ever. Logicon is a computer-aided detection tool that helps Dr. Harth and Dr. Townsend identify weak spots of tooth enamel for healthier smiles, more conservative treatment, and better patient care overall.
Digital Bite Analysis
We are the only office in the Ponte Vedra area to utilize the T-Scan digital occlusal analysis system. This state-of-the-art system allows us to digitally analyze patients’ occlusion (the way the bite fits together) with precision and accuracy. Patients simply bite down on the handheld T-Scan tool, and the handset analyzes how the teeth come together. We can then study the results, educate you on your bite and reduce the amount of adjustments and repeat visits.
